YOU can support the Women, Gender, and Sexuality program with financial contributions.
Our program relies on external funding to promote undergraduate and graduate education and scholarship. The program aims to offer students financial support for presenting their research at professional conferences and offer resources for career development, such as internships in the greater Knoxville region. In fall 2019, we launched the “Campaign for WGS,” an ambitious campaign to enhance and expand the capacity of WGS to serve our students and recognize their accomplishments. We are honored to work with local organizations to help our students become leaders in their professions and gain skills that will help them acquire jobs while contributing to diverse communities in East Tennessee.
The Campaign for WGS will support a travel fund for students to present their research at major national WGS-related conferences, including the National Women’s Studies Association annual meeting. The Campaign will also establish two awards: one for outstanding student achievements, and another to recognize outstanding faculty accomplishments and service to the program. The Campaign will also support our vibrant lecture series, which brings noted scholars and leaders from a variety of professions to campus to speak and meet with our students, faculty, and the Knoxville community at-large.
